Ever since we started Kids in the Middle, we have had incredible difficulty persuading any big children’s organisations or Government agencies or big foundations to support our campaign. Everybody SAYS the voice of the child is important, but few DO anything about it. The Government recently published a report agreeing there is a “culture which tends to exclude children and young people”.

So we have funded the entire site with donations from people who really do get the issue and want to ACT: teenagers, professionals working with separating families and some parents. Our biggest funder so far was 17 years old when he raised over £5000 for Kids in the Middle.

We are running the Voices from the Middle campaign on the same basis - 100% from donations from people who care. If you are reading this, the chances you are such a person. So please join us!

What will we do with your money?

1. Promote the competition, which raises awareness on youth social networks about this site.
2. Create a new body of text, image, sound and film of young people talking about their stories, with 40 prizes of £50 to those whose material we use.
3. Build a new section of the website where young people address separating parents.
4. Do lots of work behind the scenes to promote the project on Google.
5. Run the website, answering all the questions people leave here.

If you are a family law or mediation firm and join (using the form below), then we have some particular benefits for you:

• use £50 of your donation for a prize and name you on the winning entry
• give you a well-designed 8-page template brochure offering schools a range of benefits to help them support children in separating families. You can overbrand this and three pages are blank for you to present your own services. This approach was tested with great success by 174 Law in Birkenhead - see their blog post on the project.
• allow you to use our attractive member logo (in a variety of colours even!) - the pink version is shown here

Membership prices are:

• For firms of 1-3 partners: £190/year (£150 if joining by 25 December)
• For firms of 4-9 partners: £250/year (£200 if joining by 25 December)
• For firms of 10+ partners: £320/year (£250 if joining by 25 December)
